Om bloggen hennes

I think a lot of thoughts about a lot of different things. These are those thoughts about things that I think are important enough to write about. Although some of these things are hardly thought to be important.

Let me start off by saying this movie is not for everyone. (…) I’m well aware that it fits a very specific niche for a limited number of people. And to those people, this movie is gold.

The best thing about this movie is how ridiculous it is. You have to go into it knowing that it’s going to be one of the most outrageous and absurd movies you’ve ever seen. The concept of the movie is basically “Alice in Wonderland with Guns”. A girl nicknamed Babydoll is sent to a mental hospital by her evil stepfather who pays to have her lobotomized in 5 days. To cope with reality, Babydoll envisions the hospital as a brothel owned by the mob, and instead of a doctor coming to lobotomize her, it’s a “high-roller” coming to take her virginity away. She finds that her ‘dancing’ entrances men and attempts to use her dance to free herself and four other girls.

Now for the reasons why this movie is awesome

Gorgeous Ladies

Who doesn’t love pretty ladies in sexy costumes? (…)

Ridiculously Awesome Action Scenes

This movie has everything from steampunk zombie Nazis to dragons to Samurais with machine guns. Each scene is incredibly shot, and breathtakingly intense. (…)

Wicked Soundtrack

I actually read a few reviews that complained about the soundtrack, but I thought the songs were all really fitting for the movie. Most of the songs are beautifully dark or heavy industrial versions of their originals. (…)

Absurdity of Plot

Again, the movie is ridiculous. But you have to know that the movie isn't trying to take itself seriously. Too many of the reviewers have complained that the plot is lacking and that there is no character development. This movie wasn't designed to have character development. I really don’t care what the girl’s favorite colors are or where they grew up. To say that this movie needs to follow the typical guidelines of any other movie is to misunderstand the goal of this movie, and that is to entertain.
